COSTIGAN REPEAT!

On the July 31, 2021 edition of WFS Showdown, Murphy Costigan did the unthinkable and defeated Crash Cassidy to become a two-time WFS Television Champion. It was no surprise to see Costigan competing at a high level. The shocker came in the form of Beau James, who came to ringside and appeared to place something inside Murphy's knee pad. It was a blow with the very same knee that marked the end of Crash Cassidy's title reign. While the nature of Costigan's relationship with Beau James is still presenting itself, it is clear Crash Cassidy will be entitled to a rematch. Stay tuned to wefightstrong.com and all social media outlets for updates on the Television Title situation.

Throughout the pages of tag team history, you’ll find tales from one of wrestling’s greatest rivalries: The Midnight Express vs. The Rock and Roll Express. Led by manager Jim Cornette, Midnight Express members Bobby Eaton and Dennis Condry (later replaced by Stan Lane) went toe-to-toe with Rock and Rollers Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson all over the United States for much of the 1980s and early 1990s. These days, Morton has found a new partner in his son, Kerry, a young up-and-coming talent currently learning the ropes and impressing crowds alongside his legendary father.

Meanwhile, Elliott Russell and Sigmon, known as The Heatseekers are carving out their own legacy in tag team wrestling, defending the World Fighting Showcase Tag Team Championships around the globe, truly proving to be World Champions. Recently, The Heatseekers have played the role of The Midnight Express against the Mortons. Add the flamboyant Dillon McQueen in the place of Cornette, and it is easy to compare the 2020 battles between The Heatseekers and the Mortons to the famous confrontations between The Midnight Express and The Rock and Roll Express.

Although Russell and Sigmon refuse to back down from any challenger, Kerry and Ricky Morton have proved to be thorns in The Heatseekers’ proverbial side. To date, the champions have held onto their titles, but the challengers show no signs of giving up the fight for the WFS World Tag Team Championships. Be on the lookout for the Heatseekers defending the titles near you!

LEWIS BLAIN REGAINS BRITISH GOLD!
LEWIS BLAIN REGAINS BRITISH GOLD!

 NEW WFS BRITISH CHAMPION!

For the second time UK wrestling legend Lewis Blain is the World Fighting Showcase British Heavyweigh Champion.

Blain won the title in a very odd way.

He actually won the belt by pinning Jonny Rose in a special tag team bout on Saturday February 22nd in Wolverley, England.

Lewis Blain & Soulkiller Vs Blue Tiger & Jonny Rose (who was representing the former WFS British Heavyweight Champion Barnsley Brawler who has had to retire due to injury)

Each wrestler in the bout had their own stipulation.

*If blue tiger got beat he would have to have thrown £100 in cash out to the ringside fans

*if Soulkiller got beat he would of had his head shaved

*if Blain got beat, his manager Peggie Leather would have got 20 lashes

& as we saw, Rose was beat so Blain became WFS British Heavyweight Champion.

This victory came through some very shady tactics.

Blains manager Leather distracted the referee enabling Blain to deliver his dangerous heart punch that AWA wrestlers want to see banned. With Rose knocked out Soulkiller then flew from the top rope with a steel mask on for good measure.

New AWA commissioner Barnsley Brawler saw this and has granted Rose a WFS British title shot on Saturday afternoon March 28th at Wolverley Club.....this time under the traditional WFS British title rules of 6x3min rounds, 2/3 falls to decide the winner.
